Temporary Mail Redirection

Make sure your mail finds you, no matter where you are.

What is temporary Mail Redirection?

Canada Post offers a convenient service to help you redirect your mail for short periods of time. It's ideal when your business or organization wants to have mail delivered to an address where you are operating on a temporary basis.

Features

A 3-month minimum fee is required for temporary Mail Redirection, even if you require the service for a shorter period. You can renew the service, providing you request the renewal before the expiry date of the service.

There are no limitations on additional renewals, though your renewal price will be the current price at the time of application. When your Temporary Mail Redirection is submitted online, you can also renew it online.

If your original request is for less than 3 months and you want to renew the service for any period of time, your fee will be calculated based on the period in excess of 3 months.

To renew, amend, extend or stop your online service request, you will need your online reference number, your contact first and last name and the password you provided. Applicable fees apply for a renewal.

When your temporary Mail Redirection service expires, delivery to your primary address will resume.

Restrictions

A maximum of 2 business customers can use the form, provided the original and forwarding addresses are the same. Proof of authority to act on behalf of another may be required.

A request for temporary Mail Redirection cannot be accepted if you receive mail through a shared postal address (e.g. if several businesses have a common postal address or privately administered mailboxes).

Parcel items such as Priority Next A.M., Xpresspost, Expedited Parcel and Regular Parcel will be redirected within Canada only. If you are expecting parcel deliveries, please advise the senders of your new address.

Where can mail be redirected to?

Temporary Mail Redirection is available from Canadian addresses to other Canadian addresses, U.S. addresses, and most international destinations (excluding dutiable items).
